Will Avengers Endgame Break Records?

    The ending for Infinity War was unexpected, but what else was unexpected was the amount of people buying presale tickets for Endgame. Pre-sale tickets for the latest film from Marvel Studios, which is coming out April 26, went on sale the morning of Tuesday, April 2, causing many fans to flock to sites like Fandango and AMC to get tickets.

     However, for some of those who logged onto Fandango had issues. They “got” their tickets, only to find out later that it many show times for the film’s opening weekend are already sold out. AMC’s a ticketing app was completely down due to the high demand.

     AMC said on Twitter “We want everyone to be able to grab their Avengers: Endgame tickets, but it looks like we’ve gotten Thanos’ snap. We’re working on getting things back up and running, and in the meantime, please keep trying our website and our partner sites!”

     Endgame set a new first day pre-sales record on fandango overtaking Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It broke the record in only six hours.

     Atom Tickets tried to be prepared for the rush of online ticket sales, but it wasn’t enough. A spokesperson told CNN Business that “Endgame has sold three times more tickets on its site in the first hour of pre-sale than Avengers: Infinity War did last year.”
