After a disappointing end to the Thunder Ridge boys basketball season last year, the Titans started this season off with a win against Bonneville 66 to 57. Moving the Titans to an undefeated 1-0 and dropping the Bonneville Bees to 0-2. The Titans were led by Senior Guard/Forward Tao Johnson with 16 points, 11 of them from the free-throw line.

Some other leaders were Senior Guard Bryson Hawkes had 14 and Senior Forward Kobe Hill had 10. The game started off back and forth, but the Titans took the lead going into the 1st quarter outsourcing the Bees 18-16 Kobe Hill with 8 points in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Titans and Bees still battled it out; however, the Titans took a 39-36 lead into the halftime break.

The 3rd quarter was a defensive clinic as the teams could not find a rhythm. The Titans outscored the bees 11-9 in the quarter, bringing the score to 50-45. Although the Bees fought hard and cut it close, the Titans were able to outscore them again in the 4th 16-12 and win the game 66-57.

The Bonneville Bees played really tough and Junior Mccay Judy lead the team with 14 points, and Jacob Scoresby had 8 but struggled with fouls, eventually fouling out in the fourth quarter. But it was ultimately not enough to beat the Titans

Kobe Hill thought that the game felt good, but it could have been better. “It could have been better for sure we need to learn from our mistakes”. As Kobe also stated, “I felt like I brought great energy”.

Next up for the Titans is a game against 1-2 Hillcrest, December 7 @ 7:30. Come and support and help them get to 2-0. Go Titans!
