Hocus Pocus Is Anything But Bogus

Anabelle Andrews, Staff Writer

Hocus Pocus was originally released on July 16, 1993, as a family-friendly Halloween movie. It has scares and laughs and is definitely one of the best classic Halloween movies ever.

Almost everyone has seen it, and if you have not you need to. It’s an interesting, weird, funny movie to watch with your family and friends for a fun movie night. Some of the favorite characters are of course the witches (Winifred, Mary, and Sarah), Thackeray Binx, and Max Dennison.

Thunder Ridge Freshman Alexa Ivie’s favorite part of the movie is when the witches bite their tongues and spit them in the potion. While Thunder Ridge Freshman Harlee Hall’s favorite part is when the witches are on their vacuums and brooms riding around the town.

While some people think it’s a bland movie and needs more to it, others really like watching it. Rating the movie from 1-10: Alexa Ivie:7,  Andrews Kersley:9, Harlee Hall:8, Thunder Ridge Freshman Mckenna Williams:7, Thunder Ridge mom Tyra Andrews:6.

Although it’s an amazing movie, people said that they think The Nightmare Before Christmas is their favorite Halloween movie. The Nightmare Before Christmas is by far in my top 5 favorite Halloween movies.

Hocus Pocus is family-friendly, has a good kind of scary that works with little kids, and is so funny. If you ever want a fun movie to watch with friends or family, then watch Hocus Pocus.
