The Defense Production Act

Brendan Winkel, Staff Writer

The Defense Production Act was recently passed to help get baby formula to families, something that has oddly been heavily impacted by shortages, from other countries by using… the military.

Now, out of everything that I’ve seen this country do recently, this has to be the most… strange. Going over to European countries to trade for baby formula is quite simply not efficient; you’re spending money to get the military over there, and spending even more to buy the formula.

Just buying the formula from other countries and having it shipped over here would be a much better idea than this, because then we’re not spending all the money on traveling. Also, why the military specifically? That just doesn’t make sense.

At least we’re doing something about the shortages, especially on something so important such as baby formula, so I’ll give them that. It’s just not the most efficient way to be doing it.

Also, I can’t get over the fact that the military’s biggest cause right now is buying baby formula. That’s kind of hilarious.
