Titan Softball Crushes Knights In Season Opener

    The Thunder Ridge Titans Varsity softball team went on a tear in their very first game in history. The Titans beat the Hillcrest Knights on March 26th, 22-3 in 5 innings.

   The game was close at the start after the first inning the score was 2-2 and then the Titans scored 20 runs in 4 innings. In their first game ever in school history to win like that shows great signs for the season to come.

   Hillcrest starting pitcher Mara Shiffler went 2 innings pitching 8 hits, 9 runs, and 9 earned runs. Bailey Adams came in, but it was too late. The Titans were already on a roll. Adams also pitched 2 innings pitched 10 hits 13 runs 10 earned runs.

   The leading hitters for the Titans were Junior Chloe Hawkes 4-5 with  2 doubles and 3 Runs Batted In (RBI). Junior Witney Belliston 4-5 had 2 RBI’s, and Junior Arylue Jones 3-4 had a grand slam and 7 RBi’s.

   The starting pitcher for the Titans was Carlie Dye with  2 Innings Pitched (IP) resulting in 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 earned runs, and three 3 strikeouts. Junior Kambry Miller went 1 IP with 1 hit, 1 run ,1 earned run. And finally Junior Mckenna Trejo went 2 IP with 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 K’s, and  1 walk.

   Starting center fielder, Belliston  thought “it felt awesome” to win the first game in Thunder Ridge Softball history..

   Belliston loves playing for a new school. “ It’s so much fun I love the new environment, coaches and players.”    

   The Titans next game is a double header April 6th first game at 11 second 1 come and support Go Titans!
