Thunder Ridge Softball Heads to Districts

The Thunder ridge softball team went to districts. On day one they had 2 games, they lost to Highland 11-1 and then beat Madison 8-4. The first game was rough. They got knocked around, and starting pitcher  Carlie Dye pitched 4 Innings, with 8 hits, 10 runs, 5 earned runs, 3 strikeouts, and 1 BB. S

Game 2 of the first day had the Titans performing much stronger. They beat the Bobcats, who were then eliminated. Mckenna Trejo pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits, 4 runs, and 2 earned runs. The Titan  leading hitters were Sierra John 2-3, HR, 2 runs batted in (RBI’s), Kalli McLaren 3-5, and  Mckenna Trejo with a 3-4 double. The lone triple was by Witney Belliston.

During the second day of games, the Titans lost a thriller 1-0 against Rigby to end their season. The pitcher Mckenna Trejo went 6 innings, pitched 2 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run, 4 strikeouts, and 0 walks. The leading hitter was Chloe Hawkes 3-3, but that was not enough. It was a a tight, strong game.

Senior first baseman Sidney Belliston was crushed when they lost 1-0 to Rigby. “It sucked. Honestly we played a perfect game, amazing defense, we just could not get our bats going.”

For a first time team Belliston thought they played strong. “I think we did amazing we played to the best of our abilities”. She thinks it is heartbreaking that she played her last high school softball “it’s heartbreaking”.  

The Titans played great all season, just could not get it done. Good luck next year Titans.
