Paul Fitzgerald Commits To Play D1 Football

Thunder Ridge Senior Defensive Tight End Paul Fitzgerald has chosen where he will play football at the next level. Fitzgerald has chosen to take his talents to Logan, Utah, and play for the Utah State Aggies. Fitzgerald committed to Utah State on August 2nd, 2021 after originally committing to BYU on June 25th, 2021.

As the recruitment process is always a rollercoaster ride, his was no different as Fitzgerald had a football camp at BYU and an offer from BYU so quickly in the summer. So he committed to play there, but he quickly realized that he had more schools looking at him and so he de-committed from BYU on July 12th.

After backing away from BYU, Fitzgerald went and committed to the Aggies, which is where he will sign and play for starting in the fall. Fitzgerald believes choosing Utah State was the right choice, “ I chose Utah State because it seemed like a great fit and the fastest possible way for me to play as fast as possible.”

Fitzgerald continued to explain, “ Byu was really the first school to notice me and talk to me. I was new to the recruitment process and I committed right then and there. Later on I noticed that there was a lot of time, so after discussion with myself and prayer, I decided to de-commit and open up my recruitment.”

Fitzgerald is looking forward to getting to work and playing college football. “I am super excited to put my head down and work right when I get there, I am really excited for the college atmosphere and playing football.”

Thunder Ridge is excited to see how far Fitzgerald could go after graduation.
