Dad Catches Baseball While Feeding Baby

Jacob Kingsley was attending a Cincinnati Reds game with his wife and baby boy. Even though the Reds lost that game against the San Diego Padres, on Tuesday, April 24, 2022, one fan went home with a sore hand and the play of the day. Kingsley caught a foul ball while bottle-feeding his baby during the top of the fifth inning. The family said it was the baby’s first baseball game, and he will never forget it.

A video posted by the MLB showed the ball was hit by Padres catcher Luis Campusano, and the video left the world in awe after they watched it. The ball flew into the seats behind the third baseline. After landing in the seats and bouncing once more, Kingsley stood up from his seat and caught the ball with his bare right hand while his left hand was feeding his child.

“Nice job!” the commentators said after Kingsley caught the ball. They added “While feeding the baby? Wow! Holds the bottle, no spillage, baby in perfect bliss, and a souvenir!”

Kingsley said after the game “Safety was first; I did my best to protect him at all costs.” His wife said she kept an eye on the ball the entire game to ensure their son, Shepard, would be safe.

“I think it’s so cool. It’s multitasking at its finest. He could be one of the players,” said Mason Dale, a student at Rock Springs High School.
