Grand Canyon Site For Many Tourist Deaths

“The Grand Canyon is such a beautiful sight to see.” says Makenzie Clark,a former student at Thunder Ridge. “The park is just full of these bright and beautiful colors it’s so peaceful and breathe taking. I went last year and we all got a group photo by the sky bridge and it was so much fun”

As beautiful and breathtaking as this majestic wonder of the world is, it is also the tomb of many tourists.

Every year 5 million tourists visit the Grand Canyon, But out of all of those tourists over twelve tourists die every year at this vast park.

The actual causes of death vary from person to person. Not all are actually people falling into the canyon. These deaths include, natural causes, suicide, helicopter crashes, drowning, the force of impact from people falling, heat stroke, and many others

However, recently the average has been higher due to more people falling off of the edge of the canyon. Park rangers are actually getting concerned with the issue. Tourists are always taking pictures by the edge and doing all kinds of things like sitting on the edge or hopping over the railing and walking around.

Late in late March two deaths were reported from others falling over the edge and early April another death was reported. The body of the women was then found and taken out shortly after. The past two months have been a brutal to the death toll of the grand canyon with the average already being hit for falls this year. According to the Grand Canyon web page the average is two to three a year.
