Moon Knight wrapped up pretty recently, and to say I am both incredibly confused and incredibly satisfied is quite an understatement. First of all, Moon Knight is probably the first marvel tv show or movie that doesn’t answer almost a single one of its questions. It answers who Marc and Steven are, and that’s about it. I’m still not sure if the mental hospital or the Egyptian god world is the real one, and I have a good feeling I should.
While the twist of Marc being a mental patient is one of my favorite twists on screen ever, it just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I would’ve believed that the hospital was the real world until the finale, until Harrow (the doctor version) has blood on his shoes and then you just never see it again. Interesting, good explaining Disney. I really feel like I’m missing something here.
That is really the only thing I dislike about the show though. Harrow (the evil, Ammit following version) is actually a decently interesting villain, which is more than I can say for WandaVision’s Agatha Harkness or Hawkeye’s Kingpin. The final battle with Khonshu and Ammit was also quite decent. While not as big and powerful as the final battle in Shang Chi, Legend of the Ten Rings, it was still enjoyable to watch.
I also really like Marc’s backstory, definitely top 5 in the MCU.
I would definitely recommend this show, especially since you don’t necessarily need to have watched all the previous material to understand it. I give Moon Knight a solid 9/10 rating.
