The Inquisitor Returns

Brendan Winkel, Staff Writer

With the teaser trailer for Kenobi dropping, we’ve gotten a lot more insight into what the show will likely look like. Undoubtedly, the biggest part of the trailer was the appearance of the Inquisitors; The Grand Inquisitor, the Third Sister, and the Fifth Brother.

Doing some research, and by that, I mean watching Disney+ and looking on Wookieepedia, the Grand Inquisitor and Fifth Brother first appeared in the show Star Wars: Rebels, and were also (spoiler alert) both killed in Star Wars: Rebels. So, it certainly won’t be another Cad Bane situation.

However, the Third Sister is pretty much brand new, at least to canon Star Wars, Kenobi being her first appearance in the franchise.

It is cool that they’re bringing a never-before-seen Inquisitor to Star Wars, but I must admit I think it would have been cooler if they had brought back another older face, such as the Seventh Sister, who was the partner of the Fifth Brother and main antagonist in Star Wars: Rebels Season 2. The last time we’ve seen an inquisitor on screen (other than the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, that is) was early 2016, and it is definitely a welcome surprise to see them return six years later.

While a lot of people don’t even know who the inquisitors are, whether that be people who haven’t seen Star Wars: Rebels or who aren’t big Star Wars fans, I think that the presentation of the inquisitors will be quite accurate to their previous performances instead of remaking the character like they did with Boba Fett. I am still a little bit salty over that.

Seeing a lot of audience reception for Book of Boba Fett, this assumption doesn’t seem too out there.
