Madness In Front Of Idaho Falls Temple

On May 8th, 2022, Mothers Day was supposed to be about celebrating all the wonderful mothers of the world, instead, there was a shooting outside of the Idaho Falls temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but no one was killed and one person was injured.

At 7:30 pm outside of the temple 23-year-old Fredrick Free shot 28-year-old Austin Kuck in the hand. During the argument, Kuck fired multiple shots at Free as he was fleeing the scene. Idaho Falls police department responded to reports of the shooting around 7:30 pm, and Kuck was located at the Idaho Falls Community Hospital receiving treatment for his gunshot injury.

In a statement with police Kuck says he had gone to confront Free because he believed he was involved in an invasion of his house. He saw some of his stolen possessions in Free’s possession. During the argument, Free reportedly drew his gun and pointed it at Kuck, followed by shooting Kuck in the hand.

Free was charged with aggravated battery, which is punishable up to 15 years in prison; Kuck was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful discharge of a weapon, both are punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
