Met Gala Looks Review 2022

Met Gala Looks Review 2022

Anastasia Carlon, Staff Writer

The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala or the Costume Institute Benefit, is an annual fundraising gala held for the sake of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. This brings together many different celebrities of all kinds along with different designers.

With the 2022 Met Gala passed, the outfits have been receiving mixed reviews. The theme was Gilded Age and In America: An Anthology of Fashion. The guests and designers were told to match both themes together.

A few looks reviewed by Thunder Ridge Sophomore Ethan Lebel:

Cardi B

It looks really good on her, the designs and things like that are so pretty. It fit her curves really well, and it definitely is made for her.

Lizzo

I can kind of see what she’s going for, but if the ‘gap’ in the dress wasn’t there it would look better. The cover kind of looks like a bedsheet too.

Billie Eilish

It doesn’t look like her at all, she looks so different. She kind of looks like a dark-haired Ariel, with Disney Princess vibes.

Kim Kardashian

She doesn’t deserve the dress, just give her a YMCA shirt honestly. She probably stretched it out, and it doesn’t fit her. She makes it look plain.

Bad Bunny

He looks funny, kind of like Joseph from Stardust Crusaders. I like the trench-dress look though.

Blake Lively

It suits her well, and I love the heavy detail. It’s so complex and I like that, it’s a lot like it should be.
