First Weekend of Coachella

The first weekend of the annual music festival Coachella has now come and gone. This music festival in the middle of a desert in California is known for its extravagant outfits, outrageous internet influences, and of course talented and wildly famous musicians. After a two-year gap from the music festival due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many people were not sure that the festival would ever be the same, and some even thought that it would never return. So understandably, the public had very high hopes for this year’s return of the festival.

This year’s Coachella was full of top-tier celebrity performers like Harry Styles,  Finneas O’Connel, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Meghan the Stallion, and so many more.

The performance that most people seem to be buzzing about was a surprise duet between Shania Twain and Harry Styles, where they sang “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” and “You’re Still the One,” much to the delight of the surprised festivalgoers.

Another fun surprise was when Finneas sang a few songs from Four Town, a fictional band in Disney’s newest movie Turning Red.

When asked what her favorite part of the festival was, Thunder Ridge Senior  Hannah Jackson said “I loved Turning Red, so hearing Finneas sing that song was awesome! I could only wish that the other band member from Four Town would join in and have a live concert so all the people could fangirl as they please.”

Jackson later went on to say, “My favorite moment from last weekend’s Coachella was probably judging all the influencer’s outfits and seeing which ones I liked best.” Overall the first weekend of Coachella was a major success and the next weekend should be equally as exciting.
