Thunder Ridge Hosts Stag Dance

Thunder Ridge High School held its first stag dance on Saturday, March 12th. Students from TRHS, along with other students from around the area, came to the party wearing anything neon. TRHS Student Council rented a mechanical bull for the dance, and it was one of the main highlights of the night.

Students were able to ride the bull if they filled out a permission slip. Mr. Buhler, the adviser for Stuco, even rode the bull. There was also an amazing light and speaker set up when students could stand underneath and dance. The DJ of the night had the students jumping up and down with a super hype playlist, that included an only ladies dance and only guys dance, and one of the favorite songs “Turn Down for What” by DJ Snake and Lil Jon.

TRHS Stuco set up a photo shoot that students used to take some pictures. There were also many black lights set up with glow-in-the-dark paint and posters hanging around, leaving the gym to be a neon party. Leighton Torres, junior at Thunder Ridge, loved the dance and hanging out with his friends. His friend group even painted their own shirts in neon glow-in-the-dark paint to wear to the dance. He said, “That was one of the funnest dances I’ve ever been to!”

The dance was a hype party full of glow sticks, mosh pits and epic bull riding. Students at TRHS and their friends had an awesome night and are looking forward to the next stag dance. Hopefully, the mechanical bull will make a comeback.
