Oreo is celebrating its 110th birthday with a brand new cookie flavor.

The celebratory new cookie is called the Chocolate Confetti Cake. The cookies themselves are filled with sprinkles and have two layers of filling: the signature creme flavor, pumped with sprinkles, and a chocolate-cake flavored creme.

The delicious new treat will be released on January 31st in stores nationwide for a limited time.

Oreo says that it’s the first time it has used sprinkles both in and on the cookie.

Oreo fans, like Idaho Falls resident Jolee Nelson, say “I can’t wait for the new Chocolate Confetti Cake to come out. Oreo’s have always been a favorite of mine and I’m sure this one will be no different.”

The company will mark its 110th birthday on March 6.  The ever-popular snack was first sold on that day in 1912 by the National Biscuit Company to a grocery store in New Jersey.

Since then the company has been famous for releasing new flavors in order to keep the company fresh, including the most recent toffee flavored cookie.

The company continues to be a moneymaker for owner Mondelez. In the latest birthday flavor, Oreo is attempting the company’s goal to increase its sales by $1 billion in the next year.
