Students Preparing For the New Year

Emily Jones, Staff Writer

Students at TRHS are preparing for the new year by making goals for themselves in not only academics but also personal goals. Many students are making goals for the new year for things like graduation, final grades, and physical and mental health.

Emma Byrd, a senior at TRHS is preparing for her new year by preparing to graduate and go onto cosmetology school. Some other resolutions she made were to be less sarcastic, such as to go on more adventures and have an amazing summer before college. Her biggest goal in school right now is to get all the credits she needs to graduate and finish each trimester with good grades. She’s very excited to complete these goals and to start the next chapter in her life. Byrd said her advice for other students is to, “Make sure that they’re personal to you and will benefit you. Also, have some fun goals along with serious ones, and break them down as much as possible because it’s easier to complete them that way.”

Verywellmind put out an article with 10 steps of how you can have successful resolutions. 1. Choose a specific goal 2. Limit your resolutions 3. Put time into planning 4. Start with small steps 5. Avoid repeating past failures 6. Remember that change is a process 7. Get support 8. Renew your motivation 9. Keep working on your goals 10. Learn to adapt.
